Yes, Rockville Dental Arts understands that dental anxiety is common
and offers nitrous oxide, oral sedation and IV sedation to help
patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visits.

During your first dental appointment at Rockville Dental Arts, you can
expect a review of your medical and dental history, a comprehensive
oral examination, any necessary digital X-rays, a discussion of your
dental concerns and goals, and a personalized treatment plan.
What safety and sterilization protocols do you follow?
Your safety is our top priority at Rockville Dental Arts! Our office
follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental
Association, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and
OSHA, and our staff routinely cleans and disinfects all areas of the

We offer general dentistry and cleanings, children’s dentistry,
composite fillings, dental implants including All-on-4, dentures and

Dr. James Linkous, DMD, is a prosthodontist;
Dr. Dennis Norkiewicz, DDS, is a general dentist with
over 25 years of clinical experience in restorative and implant
dentistry; and Dr. Taruna Gupta, DDS provides
comprehensive general dental care.

What should I do for a dental emergency after hours?
Dental emergencies can happen at any time, so we’re always here for
you — you can call our office or text our after-hours number any time
at (301) 424-2030, and our dentists can
provide first-aid advice over the phone before you arrive.
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
Yes, we strive to provide same-day emergency dental appointments
whenever possible for both new and existing patients.
What sedation options do you offer for nervous patients?
Nitrous oxide: A mild sedation inhaled through a mask.
Oral sedation: A prescribed pill taken before your
procedure.
IV sedation: Administered directly into the bloodstream
and adjustable as needed.
Is sedation dentistry safe?
Yes — before any sedation we thoroughly review your medical history and
discuss any concerns or allergies, your vital signs are closely
monitored throughout the procedure, and we advise against driving
afterwards while the effects wear off.
