Candidate for TMJ Treatment?
When people are too ashamed of their teeth to smile, they often lose self-confidence. After all, a warm, welcoming smile contributes so much to attractiveness. Unfortunately, there are so many different things that can get in the way of a beautiful smile too, like discolored, cracked, chipped, worn, or crooked teeth. Some people, due to severe damage, even lose some teeth. If this sounds like you, then it is time to consider a smile makeover from Rockville Dental Arts.
What Is It?
A smile makeover is actually a term that refers to one or more dental procedures in order to improve a smile. A cosmetic dentist can evaluate the teeth in order to determine what procedures would benefit the patient the most. The procedures often used in a smile makeover by a dentist include:
- Dental Veneers – These are thin porcelain covers so to speak that can improve discolored teeth as well as those that are cracked, chipped, and even crooked. Veneers are adhered directly to the surface of the teeth for an even, white smile.
- Tooth Implants – If a patient is missing one or more teeth, then implants offer a permanent solution. Bridges and dentures can be uncomfortable, come loose and do not look attractive. Implants are placed directly into the bone beneath the teeth so that they provide permanency. Implants will not come loose, don’t have to be removed at night, and look like real teeth.
- Teeth Whitening – So many things can cause tooth discoloration from smoking to drinking coffee to certain kinds of medicines even. At Rockville Dental Arts, we offer two different teeth whitening options: whitening trays and Zoom!® whitening, which takes place in the office in a matter of minutes.
You will need to see a cosmetic dentist in order to determine which procedures will benefit you the most.
For example, some people may simply need a few veneers, while the rest of the teeth will be whitened to match. Some patients may require a dental implant for tooth replacement and then veneers on the rest of the teeth to deal with other damage. It all depends on the condition of your teeth, but your cosmetic dentist will be able to evaluate your smile and provide you with an amazing makeover.
What to Expect
First, you will need to make an appointment for a consultation. During this time, the dentist will evaluate your current smile and then determine what procedures you will need. The actual time needed to complete your smile makeover will depend on those procedures and may require more than one visit.
