Dr. Norkiewicz received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland. His advanced post-graduate studies included a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program where he trained under the Army’s top specialists in all fields of dentistry, focusing on Full Mouth Reconstructions (Smile Makeovers), Complex Occlusion,  Anterior (frontal) Aesthetics and Neuromuscular Dentistry.
Currently, Dr. Norkiewicz continues to attend education and training sessions in order to stay abreast of the latest dental techniques and technology

Prior to joining the practice as an associate dentist, Dr. Platia was fortunate to have received a solid clinical and educational background. A native Washingtonian, Dr. Platia grew up inChevy Chase, MD and graduated from Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. From there, she attended Northwestern Universitywhere she obtained her BA in Biology, and went on to receive her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of MarylandDental School, the first dental school in the world. She then completed a one year hospital-based General Practice Residency at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. She trained under a host of renowned specialists, but focused on honing her skills in all fields of dentistry, especially implant restoration, and learning to manage the medically-compromised patient.

During her time at the University of Maryland, Dr. Platia received many honors and awards. She is a member of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, the Ferdinand J.S. Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Community Service, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award, the International College of Dentists Leadership Award, and the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity Award for Scholastic Achievement.

In her spare time, Dr. Platia enjoys spending time with her husband, playing tennis and swimming, and trying her hand at cooking. She is an avid sports fan, and particularly enjoys following college football as well as the Orioles, Ravens, Redskins, and Capitals.
